Live Music on Peristil Square
Live acoustic music from 20:00 to 23:00, on the oldest square in the city. Every evening from 1 April to 31 October, and on Friday and Saturday from 1 November to 31 March.
When
From 1 April to 31 October the music plays every evening, from 20:00 to 23:00, outside on Peristil. From 1 November to 31 March it plays on Friday and Saturday, at the same hour, indoors under the stone vaults. The set is acoustic: world music and older hits, songs like What a Wonderful World. The line up is guitar and voice, sometimes with double bass and saxophone. The kitchen serves until 23:30, so dinner and the music overlap.
Where you sit
You sit on cushions and at small tables on the ancient steps of Peristil, in front of the bell tower of St Domnius. There is no stage, and the musicians play sitting on the steps. The room indoors is a protected monument of the highest category in Croatia, with Grimani's painted ceiling and an interior from 1941.
On the steps and indoors
The music plays for guests. On the steps we serve drinks, pizza and starters, and the full menu is served at the tables indoors.
You don't reserve for the music
A reservation is for a place at the restaurant, not for the performance. If you want to be seated at that hour, book ahead, because summer evenings fill up. If not, come early and take a place on the steps.
